"Samurai Detective Denshichi", featuring Baijaku Nakamura, is an Edo-Period human drama, in which Denshichi of Kuromoncho fights against evil rampant in Edo.
In each episode of this human suspense drama series, Denshichi of Kuromoncho, who is a detective, solves various cases in Edo. Denshichi has been given the special jitte (kind of weapon) with a purple tuft by the famous magistrate Tooyama Saemonnojo, meaning that Denshichi is employed directly by the magistrate. Supported by his dear wife Oshun, Denshichi is a person of deep humanity who loves people, but he has a dark past that he tried to help a person but killed a man by mistake. Knowing how important life is, we must live whatever happens - believing that life is beautiful, Denshichi with the jitte fights against evil that makes people suffer.
